I was the QA engineer and Tier-2 technical support for the smart-home integration from day one. That meant reverse-engineering the available firmware interfaces, testing every combination of camera firmware × automation platform × OS, and filing (or fixing) the bugs that surfaced. It also meant being the person the support team calls when a customer says "my Home Assistant automation stopped working after a firmware update."

That role has not ended. Ten years on, I am still the first-escalation contact for smart-home integration issues across every supported platform. The integration surface keeps growing (new camera models, new automation releases, new protocols), and the debugging knowledge is concentrated in one person's head. Owning this end-to-end — from the first webhook spike to the ongoing production support — is what makes the integration a differentiator rather than a one-week feature flag.
